I grew up in the east, moved to the Midwest and later to the San Francisco, California bay area. During my years at Ohio University, I majored in Business with emphasis on computer technology. While working as an office manager/art-photography coordinator for a multimedia company servicing publishers, my interest in the arts increased. Then, after moving to California and finding myself in a welcoming artistic community, I began to pursue my love for art, by enrolling in evening classes at Chabot College. Years later, I graduated in creative arts from DeAnza College, Cupertino, CA, with dual degrees in Art History and Painting.

In the bay area, I was the recipient of numerous awards in fine art and participated in many exhibitions and featured artist shows.

After many years, I have recently relocated to historic Arthurdale, West Virginia. I grew up here and call this mountain state home. If you are interested in a portrait, landscape or special place, please email me at ArtByJean. My pricing is reasonable and affordable.

Currently, my work can be seen at the Arts Council of Preston County Gallery, Kingwood, WV.
